We were Rockstars once

Sliding down the banister

Your arms waiting
Silly and sinister
The perfect match for your little sister
One drag at a time
We’ll figure the rest out together
Fur coats and sunglasses
Jovial hearts but we walk like badasses
I won’t forsake what you started
At times the grief hurts so bad
I can’t handle it
I smell your teen spirit
I scream our favorite songs
I’m clawing through jungles of traps
Cuz all I hear is
“Little sis I got your back”
And I know you do
This determination I feel
Imprinted by you
The memories are coming back
The crazy times
A wild and fearless love
Dammit that you’re gone
But we were rockstars once

Dilapidated Whimsy

This ones for you Johnny

The dark woods lay

Defeated
With caterpillars plucking worms
Mistaking them for apples
Velvet poison from the queen
Inquisitively asking misleading questions
To the bunnies celebrating…nothing
The kitty cat purred to the hum of his own hallucinations
The whimsical fantasy
Now high jacked by needles packing hazardous material
The tiger and her protector arrive…
To the magical dilapidation
The whimsy was missing!
This can’t be
Off to the queen!!
Off with her head- pop her cherry
Kick back and…swing!
Tiger bites with black and white stripes
Firework burns down the illusions
The distraction of dilapidated particles now in flames
New parts
New start
Characters wide eyed
Riding on unicorns
Melting plastic needles
Raising the flag of whimsical
Mushrooms sprout from the mud
Nature reborn
Another rebuilt fantasy
With a tweak from the twins
Tiger and Sunshine
Save the dilapidated whimsy
Again..

Crazy and Mischief (a duet with the lovely Lisa)

IMG_0269-0

Do not enter…
Yet we always found a way
Bonded at the hips like sisters
Breaking the locks or leaping over
The seeds of adventure blossomed when we were together

Excitedly running out of the back door
Yelling at my folks I’ll be home by twelve
Driving in your car as fast as we could
Laughing out loud as the music blared
We had hope in each other when the world crushed us down

Escaping bullshit on the weekends
Getting the heck out of this lame town
We were a duet of crazy mischief, no one could strap us down. Bumming smokes from random strangers Getting high from just being together

Dancing all night; never wanting to drive back home
Always lost in endless conversations
Time dissipated between our souls
A world of our very own making
Nothing could keep one from the other
I was her and she was me, against the world in our own harmony…
