His hands are sweeping her hair 

Golden locks, a hiding place for her wilted stare 

His love harnesses no questions 

He knows, she quietly begs for his affection

He cradles each tear drop

He captures each fear 

Allowing her wild spirit 

…to roam with a freedom repaired 

On the tips of butterfly wings 

On the dew of a dawning field 

As he 

Catches a ride, on her ruby studded coattails 

…The magical trace of their glorious fate 

From dancing with the stars up on high

To coming down, with a sobering cry

Golden strands again shielding her eyes

He is sweeping her hiding place

and rocking her grief

Inner•spired

Tonight I am inspired by love. On this journey I am standing up to say…yes, I am worthy to be loved! 

Our pasts can damage our self worth- I think of a brand new white shirt- the perfect white tee- then coffee spills on it during a busy day, finger paint from a little ones grab, blood from trying to save a life that slipped away just seconds before, black makeup from trying to be pretty and play dress up- but the force of tears won out in the end. Not to mention all the hands pointing to say “what a mess”. But I don’t need them to love me anyway. I want to be loved without judgment. I want to be linked up with love by those who see the messy shirt and say “wow look at all she’s survived- awesome!” 

I have to start with myself, I know this. I have to look in the mirror and truly believe I am worth passion and love despite the mess, despite the harsh labels from my past. I am not a mistake- I am unmistakable. Unmistakably me- exactly how my journey has made me. 

Thank you to my friend Eric Syrdal for reminding me beauty is not hiding our joy and our pain but expressing it. Thank you for seeing a warrior in me when I have felt so tired and unsure. Please visit his works, he is a true and real gift to our wp family.

Also please please check out Eric Ease. He really pumped me up today with his determination to “make a decision each day to move forward”. He helped remind me that it is OK to be good to ourselves even when others slam us for it. He is courageous, encouraging and a powerhouse of strength-thank you Ease.

Anklets of Inspiration

I wear an anklet around my right ankle in the hot summer. It hangs loose so it doesn’t hurt my skin- it is delicate and always with me. For whatever reason I connect it with inspiration. Inspiration is everywhere-for me, inspiration is the constant yet delicate shove to coax the lock off my soul and spill the contents. 

My beautiful soul sister Erika Kind posts daily songs and quotes- I find myself looking forward to her posts. She inspires and excites. Like my anklet, she has become a delicate and constant charm in my journey. She has inspired me to share my inspiration with all of you. It may be a photo, a song, a quote, a movie or maybe just a singular moment that changed my day. Like a charm bracelet I would like to collect my inspirations and share them with my favorite poets, creators and artists..all of you! Oh and please check Erika out- she is a pure sunshine!
