The belly of the beast
It’s where my brain sits
The heart sticking to it’s sides
Please don’t take me from this place
Please don’t make it go away
the classical ballet
Plays so beautifully in the background
I floated on a river
I became an artist beyond the enigma
An engineer, the headline dancer
And afterward we laid down together
In a bed of tulips and worn out feathers
But the beast returns
Scratching at the diarama of our minds
Collapsing what we’d made
Pieces of our cardboard stage
Inside his mouth as he chews
Floating skeletons
Tears where we once were
