The body of fall

The leaves of fall
to me, they are magical
and I took for granted
laying next to you
your body still like a cocoon
I watched you rise and drop
I memorized your shape
under the covers
that held you tight
I took for granted that my arms were ever so close to you
now I draw your smile with my fingers
In clouds made of cotton balls
out my window
where the leaves drop so magical
I taste them with my tongue
I crumble them in my hands
I spin in circles
as they fly downward
