My View

You drive your old car

With the paint peeling away
Blinded by the polish so we never see
The way your nails shake like winter leaves
Still baby you look like a million bucks
Workin two jobs just to breathe
Your hearts cryin and your heads hurtin
But when you smile you glisten brighter than diamonds
Baby you look like a million bucks
When reality sets in
Beneath those gentle eyes and angelic skin
Panic paints the jail your in
And if words could kill
You’d be down so long ago
But sweetie you keep diggin
Making flowers from babies bones
Though your bench presses heavier than they’ll ever know
And if words could kill
You’d be down so long ago
But you sing to me in a star strung melody
Giving kindness while your soul bleeds
Your time it’s growin thin
But you never cling from hope
Just keep your head up princess
Don’t let em steal your soul
Tell me-even while you’re dyin
How your beauty is rubies and diamonds
They never know you’re mostly cryin
Cuz baby you look like a million bucks.
