For so long I
Ran from the wolves
Afraid they’d ravage
This coat of gossamer
But he wasn’t at all what I thought
My preconceived feelings were wrong
Each claw like a talon
The length of his protection
Paws soft and gentle
Polished me as rubies
Body like a temple
Night hunters of the forest
Thirsting for food
In a satchel round his neck
His security my love
And what I thought was comfort from the sheep
But how he did leave
Thinking the wolf would make a savage of me
But oh now that I am free
To he portrayed as a monster
My guardian and I his sun
Never have we left the other
As he carries me
Rubble turns to feathers
