Sisters

Two creatures
thrown about
in the wrecking sea
abandon orphans
but oh sister
you have me
once young
with dreams
as solid icebergs
now we crash and rupture upon them
shattered beliefs liter
a polluted ocean
the waves bark at us
the humiliation of our past
treading without an anchor
but oh sister
I know I’ve got you
lets squeeze our hands
until our fingers burn
imprinting the fear of hurt
let us control our breath
and evade the mock of fisherman
as they whip their nets
lets descend into the trenches together
with fists clenched
into the pitch of black
beneath the water dear sister
into the darkness
may we finally rest
