Circles

And for a minute fear caught me while I was among a daydream

The minute bled into eternity

Ancient ink swelled this page

The clock stalled to an unforgiving pace

And his hands pointed at the girl frozen in her misplaced rhymes

As my sundress wore an overcoat

Too sullen for a child in spring

The confines of wool

The scratch of backward motion

When change is eminent

The world races

Shoving me back to the beginning

Hiding from reality

Seeking hope in daydreams
